The IAP2 Australasia Advanced Certificate in Engagement provides a professional development opportunity for advanced community and stakeholder engagement practitioners to deepen their knowledge and capability as an engagement leader.

Aimed at experienced engagement professionals – whether at the front-line, design and planning stages; or at the management and leadership level overseeing engagement practice – the Advanced Certificate is designed to stretch you as in individual and as a practitioner.

 

 

To complete the Advanced Certificate in Engagement participants will need to complete three advanced courses.

Strategies for Challenging Engagement

 

Strategies for Challenging Engagement

27 February 2025 (One Day)

This advanced course is focused on deep thinking and application of learning to practice. Participants explore sources, factors and assumptions that challenge engagement and share experiences and thoughts with other advanced practitioners. This course includes frameworks, models and strategies to manage challenging engagement.

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand, explore and apply strategies for challenging engagement, and to develop a plan with relevant tactics to achieve strategies at the project and organisational level.

11 and 12 March 2025 (over 2 sessions)

The Managing Contemporary Conflict course is aimed for the advanced practitioner to assist in understanding how to assess for and then plan for engagement when there is a risk of differences of opinion and conflict. This course will also explore contemporary outrage and how to respond at the organisational level and build capability within the organisation.

 

 

Establishing a Strategic Engagement Framework

The IAP2 Australasia Establishing a Strategic Engagement Framework course is designed to take your organisation’s engagement to the next level which requires an organisation to create a consistent impact from engagement across all their activities, projects and policy making. That requires quality engagement practices and for engagement to be woven into the fabric of strategy, policy making, operational activity.

Building the strategic impact of engagement requires an organizational commitment, a clear framework for engagement, practice leadership and a development process to build the engagement capability, delivery and impact.

This course is focused on helping leaders of engagement and senior practitioners to build the organisational engagement framework, to improve the strategic impact of engagement.

Pre-requisites

  • Completion of the IAP2 Australasia Essentials of Engagement course, which is a part of the curriculum introduced in 2023.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading and managing engagement projects to meet the standard requirements.
  • If you meet the minimum years of experience criteria but have not completed the IAP2 Australasia Essentials of Engagement course, you will be automatically enrolled in a 2-hour self-paced preparatory course. This preparatory course must be completed before the start date of the main course.
  • Participants who have previously started the IAP2 Australasia Advanced Certificate in Engagement will be able to continue with the new advanced courses.
