Our Team

The IAP2 Australasia professional team implements the Strategic Plan determined by the Board and carries out the day-to-day operations of the Association.

 

Leadership Team

Marion Short

Marion Short

Chief Executive Officer

A transformational leader with 15 years’ experience as a CEO in the not-for-profit sector, coupled with extensive senior management experience in the private sector and 20 years’ experience working within collaborative models.

Under her leadership, IAP2 Australasia focused on delivering a suite of valued initiatives to members which has resulted in tremendous growth, membership has more than tripled to over 14,000 and revenues have likewise increased.

Marion has an MBA from Henley Management College, UK. She has been married to Kevin for over 30 years and is enormously proud of her two adult sons.

A resourceful optimist, she grew up in the Northern Territory, and much of her life has been shaped by her dad’s words “well it can’t be that hard”.

Simon Cook

Chief Operating Officer

Simon’s responsibilities include overseeing all Operational, Financial and Technological aspects of IAP2 Australasia to ensure all functions run smoothly and the organisation achieves its operational and growth objectives.

He has over 15 years’ experience in the effective delivery of operations in the finance, allied health, and non-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining IAP2 Australasia, he spent time with organisations such as Orange Sky, Hearing Australia and the National Australia Bank in a number of executive and senior leadership roles across Australia and New Zealand.

Simon is originally from Victoria but has called Queensland home, residing between the Gold Coast and Brisbane for many years. He is supported and inspired by his partner Emma who together are raising their two young boys.

Membership Manager

Magdalena’s responsibilities extend to developing and leading the membership strategies to grow IAP2 Australasia’s membership base and ensure you get the most out of being a member.

She has over 15 years’ experience across membership, professional services, and research organisations. Prior to joining IAP2 Australasia, she spent 13 years at The Law Society of New South Wales, one of the largest and most resilient voluntary direct membership legal associations internationally, where she held a number of roles, including as Executive Director (Corporate and Member Services), and as the General Manager of

The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific, a regional membership association that advocates for the interests and concerns of the Asia-Pacific legal profession.

Originally from Sydney, she moved to Brisbane, following the move up north in the wake of COVID. She lives with her husband, daughter, their cat, Tea Party, and dog Chilli.

Erin Bray

Marketing and Sales Manager

Erin’s responsibilities include developing the overarching Marketing and Sales strategy for IAP2 Australasia to grow the brand in Australasia while achieving sales targets across the organisation.

She has over 30 years’ experience across private, government and corporate organisations. Prior to joining IAP2 Australasia, she was the Global Head of Marketing at Law In Order, a legal technology company where she spearheaded their global marketing strategy. She also held key leadership positions at a number of membership associations including General Manager, Marketing and Membership at the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and General Manager, Marketing and Engagement at the Queensland Law Society.

Professional Development Manager

Libby is an experienced educator, trainer and facilitator, passionate about creating sustainable change through education, professional development and improved processes. She has over 27 years in education – secondary and tertiary, and has worked in corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. She is skilled at working with stakeholders to plan processes and develop roadmaps—and organisational learning plans and strategies. 

Libby has a Bachelor of Education, Post Grad Diploma in Education (IT) and an MBA in Innovation and Leadership. She has presented nationally and internationally at educational conferences and facilitated training in management and leadership for a number of organsiations.

She has been married to Jorge for over 30 years and has two adult children of whom she is enormously proud.
