Young and emerging professionals working group update

One of the key objectives in IAP2 Australasia’s Strategic Plan to 30 June 2020 is to encourage and support young professionals.

With this in mind, we sent out an expression of interest in early June, calling for young and emerging professionals to put their hands up to join a working group to co design a network specifically for those in the early years of their practice.

Within moments of the call going out we were receiving enquiries and strong interest from right across Australasia. Over 40 people from various sectors and locations answered the call. It was very exciting to have such great energy and enthusiasm being generated and confirms that there is strong interest and a need to be met.

What will it look like? How will it work? What will they do? That is the unknown, but we look forward to seeing what materialises out of the process of discussion and collaboration.

What we do know is that we are not making any assumptions about this group. Rather, focusing on working with these enthusiastic members we plan to co-design and develop a network that is relevant, valuable and will ultimately encourage and support the development of young and emerging professionals across Australasia.
