Welcome! New team members

Introducing the IAP2A leadership team

As we welcome in the new year, we are also welcoming in a (mostly) new leadership team at IAP2A. The new structure and team has been established to strengthen IAP2 Australasia’s offering and deliverables for our members – so that together we can strengthen engagement and advance the practice.

Fran Morris has an extensive background in Learning & Development and joins us as the Professional Development Manager. She replaces Darren Keenan and the job description has had a thorough review with the role now focusing solely on Professional Development.

I’m sure Cathy Moses is well known to many of you. She is well recognised for her relationship building skills and how things work at IAP2. Cathy has taken on the newly created role of Membership Relations Manager with a strong emphasis on strengthening our support and service offering for members.

We now have a dedicated Marketing & Communications Manager, with Josie Gruber joining the team. Josie has great marketing and communications experience within the association sector. Josie is also responsible for the IAP2 Australasia Conference, Symposium and the Core Values Awards.

Cathy Moses, Membership Relations Manager

You will already know Cathy who has been with IAP2 Australasia for six years as Operations and Events Manager.

Cathy has now moved into the newly created role of Membership Relations Manager where she is responsible for working with our members to increase opportunities for networking, engagement and knowledge sharing within IAP2 Australasia.

Cathy is most excited about moving from the behind-the-scenes of IAP2 Australasia into a more face-to-face role with members, and is looking forward to hearing all of your ideas and thoughts on how to get the most out of being a member of IAP2 Australasia.

Looking after in-house training for our members will also be a key focus of Cathy’s new role, and members are welcome to have a chat with Cathy about their specific training needs.

Prior to joining IAP2 Australasia, Cathy worked in theatre and events as Artistic and Creative Directors. Her previous experience has seen her become a strong relationship-builder, communicator and leader.

Previously from Wollongong, she is now based in Sydney. We are sure you will see Cathy soon at one of your local network events as she travels around Australia and New Zealand to touch base with as many members as possible over the coming year. In the meantime, please feel free to contact Cathy at cathy@iap2.org.au.

Josie Gruber, Marketing Manager

Josie has 20 years’ experience in marketing and events management, mostly in the association and non-profit sectors, including the Property Council of Australia, The Australian College of Health Service Executives and The Australian Dental Association. Most recently she was the Marketing and Community Engagement Manager for a regional medical organisation. She has also worked as a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO), where she enjoyed working with a variety of corporate and association clients to market and deliver amazing events and conferences all around Australia and New Zealand.

With a strong understanding of membership-based associations, Josie places members at the heart of everything she does, and looks forward to working with the team and members of IAP2 Australasia to promote community and stakeholder engagement, and of course IAP2 Australasia.

Josie will be responsible for the overall marketing and communications, major event projects including the Core Values Awards, Conferences and Forums, and the NZ Symposium, and support the CEO in advocacy programmes.

Currently Josie is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland where she lives with her young family, having made a sea change from Sydney via Coffs Harbour recently. You can contact Josie at josie@iap2.org.au – she would love to hear your ideas relating to marketing and communications.

Fran Morris, Professional Development Manager

Fran Morris has joined us as Professional Development Manager with a specific brief to develop the course offerings and undertake specific projects, such as introducing a mentoring program.

Fran’s background has been in continuing professional development with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Property Council of Australia, and developing programs for a range of professional institutes, most recently the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management. She also worked for Lendlease, establishing its Academy.

She spent six years writing the courses for, and setting up, the education function for institutes of directors in Thailand, China, Vietnam and the Philippines under AusAID and the World Bank development projects, as well as working for commercial education providers in Singapore and Malaysia.

She looks forward to working with our trainers and members to develop new programs and to look at developing an online capability so that members, regardless of where they live and work, can access IAP2 Australasia’s education programs.

If you have any feedback about training, please feel free to contact Fran on fran@iap2.org.au.
