Strengthening engagement, advancing practice

The ambitious two-year Strategic Plan for the period ending 30 June 2020 is approved. It has 16 key objectives that sit under three strategic pillars: Advocating for Engagement; Strengthening Engagement Networks; and Advancing Professional Development.

Thank you to everyone that has participated in workshops, surveys, sent emails and had conversations with our Directors and the team. You have all contributed to the Strategic Plan and the key objectives. I would also like to thank our Ambassadors that joined the Directors and the leadership team at the March board meeting: Abbie Jeffs, Nicole Hunter, Leisa Prowse and Krystle Gray. Thank you for your feedback and guidance.

IAP2A now has a strengthened leadership team with dedicated resources for membership relations, professional development and marketing. This gives us much needed expertise and capability to deliver on the Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan is for two-years, focusing on delivering a number of high-priority objectives for members. These include: an advocacy program to influence decision makers and key stakeholders; a professional recognition program that recognises prior learning; learning pathways for professional development for entry, mid and advanced level practitioners; tertiary standards and partnerships with the tertiary sector to encourage the development of a post graduate program; and more learning opportunities and activities to build the practice and share learnings. And, there is more – which you can see here.

Now that the Strategic Plan is approved, we start developing the business plans and budgets for the start of the new financial year – 1 July 2018. The business plans will flesh out how we are going to achieve the objectives. These are expected to be approved by the board in June – then we will be able to share them with you.
