From the Chair – we want your feedback!

As you know, we now have a permanent CEO, Laurie Patton, who brings to IAP2 Australasia a history of transforming organisations, and in particular developing strong advocacy and public relations strategies. Laurie and the Board met recently and it was clear that he understands the need to build on our existing strengths and has enormous passion that will drive the organisation forward in coming years.

In recruiting a new CEO, your Board Directors were mindful of the need to more actively serve the needs of our members. In recent times we have revamped our training courses and strengthened our ties with the global association. The next step will be to increase opportunities for member engagement and to enhance the overall value of membership. We are presently refining a new draft strategic plan and later in the year we will undertake another member survey to ensure we are fulfilling your professional needs to the best of our ability.

Under the leadership of our new CEO we intend to make member engagement a high priority. This will include more local events and, through a new module soon to be released on our website, an online vehicle for group discussions and dissemination of information that will foster professional development.

We are entering a new and exciting period for IAP2 and look forward to seeing greater recognition of the benefits to society that flow from professionally driven community engagement.
