Empowering the Voices of Regional Stakeholders | Central Queensland Local Network Event Wrap-Up

Empowering the Voices of Regional Stakeholders | Central Queensland Local Network Event Wrap-Up

On Wednesday, 13 March, engagement practitioners in Central Queensland gathered at the Rockhampton Museum of Art for their first meeting of 2024.

Under the IAP2 Australasia banner, this was the third and most significant gathering of the IAP2 CQ Local Area Network (and it’s looking like it’ll only grow from here!).

With a renewable energy focus, the goal of the meeting was to ensure we can empower the voices of regional stakeholders through authentic engagement practices. The session focused on current areas for cross-organisation collaboration to help avoid the dreaded ‘consultation fatigue’ and ensure we create genuine and long-lasting benefits for our regional communities.

This focus was off the back of engagement across Central Queensland, ramping up in the last 18 months after the launch of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and the number of renewable projects proposed for the region.

Thank you to guest speakers Ruby Heard, First Nations Clean Energy Council, Bailey Fraser Department of Energy and Climate, and Suzi Blair, Stanwell Corporation.

The future of engagement in Central Queensland looks great with this enthusiastic group at the helm, and we look forward to the positive outcomes to be delivered to regional Queensland.
