Our Queensland Champion of Change | Congratulations Sioux Campbell

Sioux Campbell receiving award

Cairns based member Sioux Campbell, recently received the Inspector General of Emergency Management’s inaugural Champion of Change Award for Research and Engagement.

“A decade of work in initiating, commissioning and implementing research to develop disaster resilience is recognised as an outstanding contribution to the sector”, says Inspector General, Alistair Dawson.

From Sioux’s perspective it’s all about the principles of meaningful community engagement, using a range of research approaches to learn, grow awareness, improve and add value to strong regional resilience.  Project examples include the IAP2 award winning resilience scorecard, resilient Barron River communities, the effects of under-insurance in the Cairns region and pet management in emergencies.

Congratulations Sioux!
