From the CEO: Marion Short September 2017

I am thrilled to be joining IAP2 Australasia at such an exciting time with a number of new initiatives on the horizon. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you who have reached out and welcomed me to the organisation; the response from the P2 community has been overwhelming. I am looking forward to learning more about IAP2 Australasia, meeting the members and working together to strengthen IAP2 Australasia so that the practice of P2 and the organisation are well positioned for the future.

Last week I met some new and experienced members at the “Connect, Support and Grow” local network event in Brisbane. It was a great opportunity for me to connect and learn more about the practice. I hope to attend many more local events in the coming year.

I would like to extend my personal congratulations to the finalists of this year’s Core Values Awards. Looking back on previous winners and finalists of the Core Values Awards I can see that the quality of community and stakeholder engagement is continuing to strengthen. The Engagement #nextlevel Forum in Melbourne, 19 October is just around the corner. The IAP2 Australasia team and Forum working committee have been working tirelessly to bring you the freshest and most inspiring program. I look forward to meeting many more members at the Forum and the Gala Dinner where the winners of Core Values Awards will be announced.

Lastly, for this month, congratulations to members, Kate Vallence and Liz Pope, IAP2 Ambassador Vivien Twyford and IAP2 Trainer Rachael Edginton who will be attending the IAP2 International Conference in Denver 6-8 September as part of IAP2 Australasia’s renewed reinvestment in practices. They will be joined by Board members Leanne Hartill, Kylie Cochrane, Mandi Davidson and Margaret Harvie. We look forward to sharing their experiences and their renewed knowledge upon their return. IAP2 remains the fastest growing engagement member association in the world and fresh international perspectives on engagement will make an invaluable contribution to advancing the practice here in Australasia.
