Elton and KJA help NSW Councils become Fit for the Future

IAP2 Australasia members Elton Consulting and KJA have been appointed to the NSW Office of Local Government (OLG) facilitator panel to support councils through the ‘Fit for the Future’ process.

This followed the NSW Government’s announcement in September that councils were expected to submit a ‘Fit for the Future’ plan by 30th June 2015 on how they can accommodate for the future needs of their communities.

As part of the initiative, councils are expected to undertake a strategic dialogue with neighbouring councils, after considering the recommendations of an Independent Panel. The facilitators are available to councils at no charge to assist this dialogue to take place.

KJA’s lead facilitators will be Kathy Jones and Ian Colley, who are both highly regarded for their ability to lead conversations on local and regional issues.

Elton’s lead facilitators will be Brian Elton, Kim Anson, Brendan Blakeley and Robert Mellor who have previously worked with OLG to deliver the NSW Destination 2036 discussion paper, and draft Action Plan. They have supported councils and ROCS to consider reform directions.
